Linen closet organizing with Dollar Tree baskets and Command hooks

I have a cute little linen closet in my hallway.  It consists of three shelves and three drawers and is built into the wall.  I noticed that there was space between the doors and the shelves when the doors are closed.  I grabbed some little baskets from Dollar Tree and saw that there was enough space between the door and the shelf to fit a basket.  I was excited.

I purchased some command Command Decorating Clips, Clear, 20-Clip hooks and measured out between the slots in the baskets.  Here is what it looks like all assembled:
These baskets were lightweight and sort of angled in toward the bottom so they did not lay horizontally when hanging on the inside of the door.  I ended up just putting some cotton balls between the basket and the door.  You can just see them in the picture above.  Here's what it looks like without the baskets:
Of course, these baskets can't hold anything item that is very heavy, but it does make more use of the space inside the closet.  I have some travel sized toothpastes in one and some travel sized tissues in another.

Organizing my kitchen cabinets

I wanted to share a few things that I have done to help organize my kitchen cabinets.  I watched a video by Home Organizing and got some great ideas from her channel.  Here's a few pictures:

I store these pans vertically which make things easy to find.  I need to buy a second one to put the rest of my cake pans.  Click the link below to see where I bought them.

Here is a larger version of the same vertical storage where I keep my cooling racks, cupcake pans, and a cake pan along with its lid.  Once again the link is below from where I purchased it.
I bought these storage containers which are great!  They are long and thin and are clear.  The container on the far right holds five pounds of sugar.  The second one from the right holds five pounds of flour. Look below for a link to these items.

Something silly I decided to do is put my popcorn in a pitcher.  I make lots of popcorn so it is easy for me to pour the uncooked popcorn into the pan.

Drawer Organization using Dollar Tree baskets

I have been inspired by some organizing videos on YouTube so I decided to tackle a drawer and see how it worked out.  I would like to think I did pretty good, even if I do say so myself.  Here is my finished project:

The little trays that I used are from Dollar Tree so I only invested about $3 plus tax.  The bottom right contains all headbands.  To the left of that is various elastic bands.  I used snack bags within this bin to segregate the different elastics.  Continuing to the left is bobby pins.  The bottom left corner has butterfly clips.  Moving up a row, one tray has hair brushes and combs and the other has barrettes and other hair ornaments.  The next row up has various cords for my iPhone and my Kindle, plus some scissors and to its right is all contact cases and solutions.  The very top row has my hair satin sleep cap and my purple eye mask with ear plugs (I used to sleep during the day when I worked nights).  All my eyeglass cases are just stacked up on the right side along with a little gift bag of soaps.

I tried several versions of the layout until I was happy with how the space was fully utilized.  It might seem a little crowded, but it is neat in that everything is together in a way that makes sense to me.

This drawer is situated in the middle of my dresser where my mirror is so it is perfect for doing my hair in the mornings before I go to work.

Happy organizing!

Kitchen organizing using Longaberger baskets

I was showing off my kitchen tile clean up, click here if you would like to see it some of it, and someone asked me what kind of baskets I had and what was in them.  Here is a run down of what I have.

This basket holds my napkins and has cute handles so it can be transported easily from the table to the kitchen counter or wherever I might need napkins.
This little tea basket holds my teas and Kool Aid packets.  This makes is so easy to flip through them and pick what I want.
This is a recipe box and has a little ledge so it can hold the current recipe.  The lid is made of wood and cleans up easily.
Every kitchen needs a box of tissues so why not store them in a basket?  The lid is solid wood.
This basket holds my utensils and has a plastic liner inside.
This little basket keeps all my envelopes like gravy mixes and other sauces.

Those of you who live in Ohio are probably familiar with Longaberger baskets.  If you would like to learn more about this company, click here.

This is how I have the baskets in my kitchen:

Things are easy to see and it is easy to clean the counter.

Dresser organizing with Dollar Tree baskets

I have a dresser that I thought needed some organized help so I went to Dollar Tree and got some little baskets.  Here is what the outside looks like:
The drawers just have folded pants.  It is where the double doors are that I needed some help.

I used the baskets to group and organize my clothes.  I have underwear in one basket, bras in another, dark socks and white socks in the other two.

There was still a little room on the left to put a pillow massager.  My shirts are just folded and stacked within the two dividers.  Even though it is a little inconvenient pulling shirts out without making a mess, I know that the shirts that always stay on the bottom are good candidates for donation.
